Early Childhood Application Process

Children as young as three years old are enthusiastically encouraged to apply for enrollment at The Weiss School which is dedicated to ensuring the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student. At The Weiss School, the culture for early childhood students is one of discovery, caring, and cooperation. The Weiss School uniquely enriches the early childhood educational experience by providing students with instruction by certified teachers in the subject areas of the art, music, creative movement, media time, literacy activities, and exposure to a foreign language. Throughout their educational journey, early childhood students at The Weiss School are educated by a talented, gifted-endorsed faculty in small classes.

Ages and Other Requirements

Admission to The Weiss School Early Childhood program is based on student readiness for educational program expectations. The Weiss School admission process is designed to help ensure that each child is placed in a class that is developmentally and socially appropriate. All students entering the 3-year old Early Childhood program (Jr. Pre-K) must be 3 years of age by August 10th and are fully potty-trained. *IQ testing is NOT REQUIRED for acceptance into the Early Childhood program.

Program Options

For the 3-year old Early Childhood program (Jr. Pre-K), parents have the option to choose from 5 full days, 3 full days, or 5 half-days per week for student enrollment and attendance. The Weiss School can arrange flexible attendance options for children who are attending an Early Childhood program for the first time in order to provide a comfortable adjustment period.

For the 4-year old Early Childhood program (Sr. Pre-K), student enrollment and attendance consists of 5 full days per week.

  • Schedule and Complete Campus Tour with the Head of School

    Call The Weiss School Admission Department at (561) 209-2474 to schedule a personalized meeting and campus tour with the Head of School. During this tour, you will receive comprehensive information about The Weiss School and participate in a full campus tour to observe gifted education in action.
  • Submit a Completed Online Application with the $100 Application Fee

    Complete the online application form.
  • Schedule and Complete a Student Visitation Day at The Weiss School

    Families applying for enrollment into the Early Childhood programwill be contacted to arrange a student visitation day to complete a readiness evaluation. Following the assessment, a representative from The Admission Department will contact you to review the readiness evaluation results.
  • Provide all Required Student Records

    Complete and submit the Teacher Recommendation Form and the Release of School Records Form.
  • Expect Notification from The Weiss School Admissions Department

    Expect notification from The Weiss School Admission Department within 3-5 business days for an acceptance decision. A contract from the Admission Department will be issued and must be completed and returned within 7 business days.
  • Choose a Payment Option

    Once accepted to The Weiss School and a New Enrollment Contract has been issued, a tuition payment option will need to be selected by the family. The Weiss School offers 3 types of payment plans:

    1. Tuition Paid in Full: If this option is chosen, within five (5) days of submitting the New Enrollment Contract, a payment to pay the tuition in full can be made via SMART Tuition the day AFTER the New Enrollment Contract submission. Payment can also be made in person at the School with a check, cash, or credit card.
    2. Tuition Paid in 2 Payments: If this option is chosen, a payment for one half of the tuition balance will be debited from your SMART Tuition account in June 2018 and the second half of the tuition balance will be debited from your SMART Tuition account in December 2018.
    3. Tuition Paid in Monthly Payments: If this option is chosen, 11 payments will be debited on a monthly basis from your SMART Tuition account beginning in June 2018 and ending in April 2019.
