“Space Adventures and Gifted Education”

On April 19, 2017, The Weiss School STEM Center of Excellence hosted Charlie Duke as the second speaker for the Weiss School Distinguished Speaker Series. Mr. Duke served as a NASA Lunar Module Pilot and walked on the moon during the Apollo 16 mission. He has served as an American engineer, test pilot, and is a retired U.S. Air Force officer. He spent the afternoon at The Scripps Research Institute interacting with Weiss School students and prominent STEM professionals discussing his experience as a NASA astronaut. Mr. Duke then spent the evening speaking to Weiss School students, parents, and community members during a special interactive evening event.
