“Civil Rights Legend Visits The Weiss School”

On October 18, 2017, The Weiss School Social Studies Center of Excellence hosted Ms. Joan Trumpauer Mulholland, the first Weiss School Distinguished Speaker of the 2017-2018 school year.  Ms. Trumpauer Mulholland is a Civil Rights Legend who participated in over 50 sit-ins and demonstrations and was the recipient of the 2015 National Civil Rights Museum’s Freedom Award. She spent the day at The Weiss School speaking with students and staff about the Civil Rights Movement and spoke to students, parents, and community members during a special interactive evening event.
