The Weiss School
The mission of The Weiss School is to foster a community of reflective, compassionate, and unique gifted learners through a differentiated curriculum that promotes global awareness, leadership, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. At The Weiss School, a unique and comprehensive educational program has been developed based on the work of the nation’s leading educators and the current research on gifted education best practices.
The philosophy of The Weiss School collectively shared by school administrators and staff, teachers, students, parents, and school stakeholders is that the educational process of students has no limits. Instructional material is presented to students in methods that compliment individual student learning styles, incorporate upper level thinking skills, and foster creativity. Student learning is transformed into an enjoyable, fulfilling experience as each Weiss School student develops the ability to communicate, assimilate and apply new knowledge, and create innovative ideas. This caring environment also fosters values that include personal responsibility, concern for fellow human beings, and the desire to function as a beneficial member of society.
Grounded in our Centers of Excellence, Weiss School students receive instruction from dynamic master teachers, participate in advanced technology opportunities, and are engaged in a rigorous and exciting curriculum from early childhood through eighth grade. It is the goal of The Weiss School to expose students to real-world learning opportunities by allowing them to explore their individual passions and reach their full potential.
The Weiss School student handbook contains very useful information regarding school policies, procedures, and expectations. Please take the time to read and review this handbook with your student. My door is always open so please stop by anytime. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
